A key part of the Performing Arts Readiness project’s support to organizations is through the provision of Network Grants and Institutional Emergency Preparedness Grants. All funding for both of these grant categories has already been awarded for the 2023-25 cycle.

Institutional Emergency Preparedness Planning Grants:
Grants of up to $7250 were awarded to 38 performing arts organizations in 2023-24 for the creation of individual institutional emergency preparedness or Continuity of Operations (CoOP) plans.

Network Grants:
Grants of between $5,000 - $25,000 each were awarded for projects to support both the development of new or emerging disaster preparedness networks that include performing arts and culture organizations, and the expansion of existing networks to increase participation among performing arts organizations. Grant recipients were provided with a two-day training session to strengthen effective facilitation skills and foster relationships among networks. A map of the PAR-funded networks is here.

In 2023, these Networks received Network grants from the PAR project:

• Maui Arts Education Alliance (Maui Arts and Cultural Center and Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts)

• Kentucky Heritage Emergency Response Network (University of Kentucky Research Foundation and University of Kentucky Department of Arts Administration)

• World Arts West Emergency Response Network (Bay Area and Northern California Dance Organizations)

• Westmoreland Cultural Trust Emergency Response Network (Greensburg, PA)

 

In 2020, these Networks received Network grants from the PAR Project:

• The Arts Administrators of Color Network

• CultureAID with partner organizations the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and the New York Council for the Humanities

• Gretna Arts Safety Plan (GASP) with partner organizations Gretna Music and Pennsylvania Chautauqua Association

• Humboldt Creative Alliance with partner organizations Ink People Center for the Arts and Playhouse Arts

• The International Association of Blacks in Dance (IABD) network

• Northern Minnesota Emergency Network with partner organizations Duluth Playhouse and the Louis County Heritage, Arts, and Culture Center (The Depot)

• Alianza Cultural para Emergencias de Puerto Rico (ACEPR) with partner organizations Fundacion Luis Munoz Marin and Alianza Cultural para Emergencias de Puerto Rico (ACEPR)

• Memphis Music Initiative Network with partner organizations Memphis Equity Through Arts and Stax Museum of American Soul Music

 

During 2017-2019, these organizations received grants to expand existing emergency networks:

• Houston Arts Alliance (TX) with the Texas Collections Emergency Response Alliance

• Oregon Historical Society with the Portland Alliance for Response
